Dorothy was a great coach. I was skeptical of the benefits a coach could bring given the price point. I was convinced by her background to give it a shot and the results were rather potent. She has been a great mirror to force structured reflection on why I do what I do and what I should do going forward. Given I do startups, I'm often asked why I chose this route, what do I want the culture to be, what examples of decision making demonstrate these intentions. Coaching with Dorothy have peeled the onion on my inner logic which now makes it easier for me to articulate the vision to current and future employees.

In turn, I have also looked to her example in the Socratic method to teach and make my employees self aware. My attempts to emulate Dorothy's consistent reflections I think makes my employees rounder people, appreciate their surroundings more and I've noticed driven loyalty. For example, a previous intern wrote me 6 months after she left thanking me for reflective advice I gave which has since changed the trajectory of her life. She has replaced a 'standard' university career with an international one (rare for this part of the world).
